Reflection & Evaluation on Project
Overall Thoughts:
I am really happy with how this project turned out. I have really wanted for a while to design a project that tackles big issues in a way that can be done effortlessly by users. This is exactly what this project does. I think that all the research I carried out in stage one can be seen through the whole final presentation. My personal development was very well put together as I was very organised with time, I was obsessed with keeping ahead of the game, by keeping timetables, task sheets and constantly reflecting on my presentations just in case I ran into any major problems, allowing me to have time to get them sorted if I needed to as I was fully aware that there was an external deadline outside of uni for D&AD.
Strength:
A massive strength I think with the whole project was that the tone of voice was exactly how I thought it would be at the start of the project. I wanted to bring a luxury brand to a massive market in the zero waste marketplace, which doesn't have products or brand with this tone of voice, it is all very hippy and ethical. This was identified through the use of analysis of my wide range of research. This allowed me to have a clear drive and vision right from the start, allowing me to execute this project how I wanted.
Weakness:
The weakness of this project is that I am fully aware that the intro to the project is very dry, It doesn't capture the attention of the viewer instantly. This information needed to be there to understand the project, I did cut it down a lot however it still not the best first impression. I should have made it more visually interesting by either illustrating relevant images or putting appropriate images in. I also didn't have the technical knowledge or time to visualise the project how I wanted.
If I was to do this project again:
1. To draw the whole visualisation in SketchUp so I could have a video of a walkthrough of the whole project. This would have been more professional and conveyed the information in a clear way to the viewer.
2. I would have talked to more people about the idea and got their feedback. This would have made my idea stronger and clearer.
3. I would have given the idea more of a John Lewis tone of voice, it might have been a little bit too luxury feel for their store. They are about quality, but maybe this brand would have fitted more into Selfridges.
4. For the Advert, for the 360 Campaign, I would have worked on a Campaign called, ' You don't have to be a Hippy to be a Queen'. I would have made a video, poster and showed how the campaign would work on social media.
