Final Summary Statement

The Project:
I propose a tennis space that will be an added on to Will to Win tennis court in Hyde Park. This space will encourage girls that live in London to talk about and increase the entry-level participation to tennis. This will be in partnership with ASOS, as part of a new campaign to build up an authentic personal connection with their consumers and advertise their brand, but at the same time work on two big issues fitness and loneliness.

Submission elements:
1. PDF Asos Tennis Club Proposal
2. Walk through 3D space video

Key things I learnt:
- Time management and self-direction /  This project was an 8 week project as I started back in Easter holidays, I really learnt how to task, priorities and keep to schedules as the project was so big. The whole project was broken down into 3 main big areas which were 3D drawing, art directed photoshoot and branding. This really meant that how big and important the project was that I really needed to keep on top of things.

- 3D drawing / I learnt how to use Sketch-up and the basics of Vray. I also learnt the workflow of how to build digital 3D products.

- Art Direction and organisation / I learnt how to art direct shoots that have lots of variables to them, I learnt that you can never have too much time to put these types of shoots together, as there are lots of things to plan from models, photographers, locations, weather etc. and a lot of thing can go wrong which are outside of your hands like weather.

- Research / I learnt that you can never have too much research to understand what the target audience needs and wants are, as projects need to meet them so that they can be interactive with and successful. I also learnt that it is key to talk to professionals in the industry for advice as they know the area inside out.

- Interior Design / I started learning about inter design elements when building the 3D space.

Opportunities I had with professionals:
1. I spoke with a professional female tennis coach about a whole wide range of topics like to tennis, especial why there is such a big decrease of girls playing.
2. I spoke to the CEO of Will to Win Tennis courts about increasing girls to play tennis.
3. I spoke to Sait Aymes owners about their business.

How will the project affect your future career:
I want to to go into retail design. I am interested how space can change people behaviour and attitudes towards things. This project will affect my future as you need to have a knowledge about 3D drawings. This project was a stepping stone project, it allowed me to start learning the basic of 3D design so I can hopefully go into two areas after this project which will be Cinema 4d and 3D printing with the 3D drawing skills I have obtained. The project also allowed me to practice using all of my skills that I have picked up over my degree to build a full 360 project,  which I can show in my portfolio and the skills I will definitely use for my future career.

FMP - Section 5 // Final outcome & Evaluation

EVALUATION OF THE WHOLE PROJECT:

This project has been the most challenging project that I have ever completed in my life. I didn't play it safe and I really struggled in some areas like rendering. This project allowed me to use every skill that I have developed over my creative degree from branding, editorial, art direction, photography illustration. At the same time, I was able to learn and go into a new field 3D design that I had never experienced. I am really happy with how this project ended up, as I feel that I really tested me.

Strength:
I think a massive strength of this project was the amount of research that I carried out at the start of the project and then throughout the duration of the project. Researching at the start gave me a really strong understanding of the tennis world, what was working successfully what was not, this allowed me to identify a gap in the market and area that I could improve, which happen to be that there is a massive decrease with the number of girls playing tennis.  I then also researched around the tennis and looked at the target audience and their attitudes and what was working and what was not. After really understanding the topic and the target audience I was able to analyse all the secondhand and firsthand research to come up with an interesting, unique idea that solved a problem and could work in the real world.

I think another strength of this project was that it allowed me to develop an independent and professional working practice, this ranged from learning to be very self-directed, putting together long-term timetables and short-term tasks to complete the project and talking with professional people about the project such as the CEO of Will to Win and a tennis coach. This allowed my project to be more realistic and these skills that I picked up here, I can use in future projects.

Weakness:
I am disappointed with how my lack of technical ability in 3D drawing held me back with workflow and execution of my idea. This meant that my project was very slow, as I was learning the software and how to draw in 3D. It also meant that the finished product is not exactly how I wanted it to look, which was a realistic render of the space. My skill was strong enough however to convey the idea that I wanted but if I was to do this project again I would have started more basic with rendering and kept working with it, but I didn't have time. I would have also started with 3D drawing a lot sooner. However, I am really pleased with how much I learnt on this process of 3D drawing and I can really see how this skill can benefit my professional practice in new projects.

Overall I am really happy with how this project turned out, I think that the PDF  presentation and video were really clear and simple to communicate the idea of the project in a clear and simple way that a person could understand how the idea could work in real life.
